Welcome Message from Our Pastor

Whether you’ve been around church your entire life or you’re just beginning to explore faith, we’re honored that you are checking us out.  At Greater Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church, fondly known as GPV, you will find a community of real people who love the Lord, love one another, and love welcoming new faces.

When you visit, you can expect a warm environment, heartfelt worship, uplifting music and a relevant Bible-based word that speaks to real life.  We’re a come-as-you-are congregation—whether you’re in your Sunday best or something casual, you’ll fit right in.

Should you choose to visit, we would be honored to greet you at the door with a smile.  As one of our church mothers says “Our doors swing on welcome hinges.”

Hope to see you soon.

                                                                                                             --Pastor Henry A. Wilson, Jr.

What to expect on first visit

Every Sunday morning, we come together to study God’s word.  Sunday School is from 9:30-10:30 a.m. and refreshments are available between 10:30-10:45 a.m. Morning worship service starts at 10:45 and lasts about 2 hours.  Our Order of Service is traditional.  It starts with a Call to Worship, which is followed by scripture and prayer.  Songs of worship are interspersed throughout the service.  There is a time of giving, where we walk our tithes and offerings to the front.

Parking is available in front of the church with overflow on the side. Handicapped parking is available at the front of the church.

Please explore our entire website to learn about our mission, vision, and ministries.  If you choose to visit on Sunday or join us virtually, let us know you are coming.  Text 615-838-1243 and let us know.
